Description

A Christmas check for the United Service Organization (U. S. O.) was presented at U. S. O. headquarters in Hotel Texas by a group from the B. and H. Club, an organization composed of residents of Birdville, Texas, and Haltom City, Texas. The members of the club are, left to right, Mrs. Billie Lee, Mrs. B. A. Ellis and Mrs. R. M. Roden. Barbara Ann Roden, young daughter of Mrs. Roden, is presenting the check to Private First Class George Dern and Seaman David Fuller, who are accepting the check on behalf of the U. S. O. Barbara Ann is standing on a chair. She is wearing a coat, trousers and a hat. The servicemen are wearing their respective uniforms. Mrs. Lee is wearing a dress, overcoat, and hat. She has a handbag tucked under her arm. Mrs. Ellis is wearing an overcoat with a fur collar, a hat and eyeglasses. Mrs. Roden is wearing a dress and a hat. Behind the group is a decorated Christmas tree.
