Description
The Texas Electric Company's meter readers are left to right, Mrs. Maudean Reid, Miss Freda King, and Miss Jewel King. The trio is setting off on an eight or ten mile hike to read the meters. They are the first women meter readers in this section of the country. They are dressed in the Texas Electric Company uniforms consisting of a peaked hat, a button-up shirt with "Tesco" stitched along the front, and trousers. Each woman is carrying a book with "17K" written on the pages. Mrs. Reid is also wearing a necktie with her uniform.
