Description
Boatswains Mate Don Wallace is a sailor in the United States Navy. He was serving aboard a merchant tanker when his ship was torpedoed by an Axis submarine. The impact from the explosion threw Wallace and left him stranded in the oily water of the Caribbean Sea for over two hours. Wallace is home in Fort Worth, Texas, on convalescent leave. He is shown standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
