Description
Marine Air Corps Station. Private First Class Brusenhan, 18, of Coleman, Texas on horse at the Marine Air Corps Station. "'The Cowboy Marine' is Private First Class Gene Brusenhan, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brusenhan of Coleman, Texas. In the Marine Corps a year, the ranch boy has seen six months service in Hawaii, is now assigned as orderly to Colonel Lee. Marine guards patrol the base on horseback." Private First Class Brusenhan is riding a horse. The horse is looking at the camera with erect ears, as if on alert. Private first class Brusenhan is wearing muddy boots, slacks, a bomber jacket, a hat with a chin strap, and a plastic cap which appears to serve the purpose of protecting the hat from water. The horse's feet are also muddy. Grasses and trees are filling the landscape around the pair.
