Description
Mrs. Manion F. Jones (left) and Mrs. Karl W. Seekins, two women are shown standing in front of the Trail Drivers Monument and reading the inscription. On the monument rock is a relief of a scene involving horses and cowboys. Mrs. Jones is bent over slightly, holding the edge of the fence. Both women are wearing skirts, dark jackets and hats, purses in their hands. The romance of the Trail Drivers Monument and its connection with the history of Fort Worth fascinate these two new citizens. Mrs. Seekins is mother of Second Lieutenant (Lt.) Earl . I. Seekins, who is at the Quartermaster Depot. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, December 6, 1942.
