Navy Mothers Club. Miss Mary Nolan cuts a chocolate cake for Private First Class Clarence Bird (left) and Corporal John Wertime, both Marines. The two marines stand in front of Miss Nolan as she carefully cuts the cake for them to taste. Bird and Wertime received a preview of the cake and candy Navy Mothers Club members were making for the Marine Corps Air Station to celebrate the 167th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Bird and Wertime are wearing naval uniform and Miss Nolan is wearing a blouse with puffy sleeves. Behind them is a wall with a wallpaper of trees and mountains on it.
