Description
The Fort Worth Cats are playing an exhibition game against the Texas Christian University Frogs. Connie Sparks, a big TCU football player who doubles in baseball, is sliding feet first into home plate. He scored from second on Herman Hoover's single. Blocking the plate and attempting a tag is Richard Taylor, the Cats' catcher. The umpire, Rollie Naylor, removed his mask and is crouching to get a better look at the plate. He is preparing to flash the safe signal. Taylor suffered a spike wound to his left ankle on the play and was removed from the game. The Cats won the contest 12-7.
