Description
Two views from the colorful past of the lumber industry in Texas and the dean of Texas lumberman, Willard Burton, former Fort Worth mayor, who will be given recognition along with other "old-timers" of the industry when the Lumbermen's Association of Texas opens it' annual convention at Hotel Texas. Shown here is a view of teamsters starting with wagonloads of lumber from Burton-Lingo Lumber Company's yard to Colorado City in 1897. The wagons were headed for other West Texas points in the days before the advent of good highways and motor trucks.
