    Navy Mothers League members arrived at the Texas and Pacific Station to hand out baked goods for traveling servicemen. Mrs. H. E. Aldrich, first vice commander of the league, is shown serving cookies from a cardboard box to, left to right, Luther Springer, Roy Cooper and Louis Henry Butcher. The men were among the 67 coast guard recruits who left for training. They are wearing collared shirts and trousers. Mrs. Aldrich is wearing an American Red Cross Motor Service uniform.
