Description
Mark McGee, right, State Office of Price Administration (O. P. A.) director, and Jack F. Reid, state rationing officer are reviewing speeding tickets. "Double trouble now faces the Texas motorist who gets a ticket for speeding on the highways. [S]he may (1) be fined by the courts, (2) forfeit [her]/his chance to get new tires when [her]/his old ones wear out. State O. P. A. Director Mark McGee and Jack F. Reid, are shown here as they look over the first big batch of speeding tickets sent [to] them by State Highway Patrol. Speeding is regarded by the tire rationers as evidence of tire abuse." The duo are sitting at a desk, side by side, and both are gazing at the tickets in Mr. McGee's hands. Mr. McGee is wearing a light-colored pinstripe suit with peaked lapels, a light-colored button-up shirt, a geometric-patterned tie, no wedding band, and spectacles. Mr. Reid is wearing a darker-colored suit with peaked lapels, a light-colored undershirt, a wedding band, and a dark-colored tie. Some of the items lying on the desk are a fountain pen and inkwell, writing utensils, several documents, a letter, other paperwork, an ashtray, and a dish of paper clips. Office buildings are filling the view of the window behind them.
