Description
"Shopping for a prisoner of the Japanese...Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Gray of 315 East Weatherford Street bought shoes Tuesday to include in a package bound for a prison camp in Shanghai, China." Mrs. and Mrs. Gray are putting together a package, including a pair of shoes, to send to their son. Their son, a Marine, is a captive in a Japanese prison camp. Mrs. Gray is wearing her hair in curls, a decorated straw hat with a wide brim, a light-colored dress with a polka-dot collar, two brooches, a watch, and a vertically striped purse. Mr. Gray is wearing his hair slicked back, a vertically striped button-up long-sleeve shirt with several pens in the left breast pocket, a dark-colored paisley-patterned tie. Both are smiling and looking at the camera. Mr. Gray is giving a peak at the gum he is chewing.
