Description

W. S. Margowski, chairman of Selective Service Board Number 6 was one of the first to be issued a purchased certificate for a Victory bicycle under bicycle rationing. However, he is returning the bicycle rationing certificate back to the county war price and rationing board. He has passed up the new Victory bicycles for the free wheeling, knee action, hand brakes, and chromium plating of a second-hand bicycle (unrationed). Mr. Margowski is balancing on a bicycle with one foot on a pedal and the other foot on the curb. He is wearing dress shoes, light-colored socks, slacks, a checked button-up shirt, a striped tie, and a straw hat. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 23, 1942.
