Description

Francis V. Thomson, executive director of Fort Worth Community Chest, has been selected as director of the War Chest drive, a combined appeal for 12 war relief groups and the Community Chest, representing 26 agencies. He is a veteran of 30 years' experience in social welfare work, Thomson was made executive director of the Community Chest in April 1939. He has directed three Community Chest campaigns, two of which have been over-subscribed. He came here from Chicago in 1934 to become director of the Panther Boys' Club. Before coming to Fort Worth, Thomson was engaged in boys work at Chicago, New York and Washington, D. C. In this picture, Mr. Thomson is sitting at a desk. Behind him is a table with a radio, books, and a wall full of portraits of men. He is wearing a light colored suit and eyeglasses.
