Description
Sally Carrigan packing a kit for the Red Cross. "Part of the triple play- baseball to ice hockey to the Red Cross. Sally Carrigan, wife of the Fort Worth Rangers ice hockey manager, Gene Carrigan, packs the kits the Red Cross gives to soldiers departing for foreign service. The war relief game which the Fort Worth Cats will play to the Red Cross to pay for these kits, the cost of which is not included in the regular Red Cross budget. The kits contain a variety of items a soldier far from home finds mighty handy." Sally is wearing a Red Cross nurse's uniform as she prepares to stuff a pair of scissors into a drawstring bag. To her left, several small boxes of sewing supplies are lying on the table. Behind her is a painted scene, which seems to be some kind of prop, of a country home with a couple of dogs. One of the dogs is howling at the full moon.
