Description
"'An Open Letter to Johnny,' in which the American soldier is assured of full support of 'The Folks Back Home,' constitutes the theme of the first of a series of Victory Displays which will be seen in show windows of more than 200 co-operating Fort Worth stores this week. The displays, prepared in Washington, will be shown throughout the nation. Retailers are pledged to give space for the war theme displays for the duration." The display includes a large print letter in handwritten style, being addressed to 'Johnny' from 'The Folks at Home.' Next to the letter is a cut-out of a man that is slightly taller than the letter, wearing what appears to be an army uniform and carrying a rifle with a bayonet. Just above is a banner that says "Open Letter to Johnny." A repeating star pattern fills the background.
