Description
Mrs. H. L. Young, having just sent off her youngest son to the Nation's Armed Service to join his three other brothers. "It was an old story Monday for Mrs. H. L. Young, of 1909 Irma Avenue, as she watched her youngest son, Billy Ray, 17, leave for the Coast Guard Training Station at Algiers, Louisiana. Three other sons are already in military service. In addition to her sons, Mrs. Young has three brothers in the service. Asked what she thought about the situation, Mrs. Young replied: 'Of course I worry about them and pray they'll be safe, but I'm glad and proud they've gone to fight, just as they are.'" Mrs. Young is standing against a wall wearing a light-colored dress. She is wearing her dark curly hair up, although a few stray strands have wrestled their way free, and she is looking sternly into the camera with her dark eyes. Her hands are to her side.
