Army Air Forces Flying Training Command Brigadier General Walter F. Kraus posing for the camera. "Brigadier General Walter F. Kraus, here Tuesday to look over the new quarters in the Texas and Pacific depot of the Army Air Force Flying Training Command, stated that he is more than pleased with the new office space. 'Washington has become so crowded with various Government agencies that we simply had to get more space,' General Kraus said. 'I suppose the railroad people are glad to rent the space, and we certainly are glad to get a central location.' Suffering from a head cold, General Kraus and... Colonel J. H. Hills... spent the day inspecting the new quarters, visiting the Consolidated Aircraft Corporation, and hunting houses to live in when the move here permanently. The move is schedule July 1." Brigadier General Kraus is wearing his full uniform, smiling and standing in front of a wall decorated with cattail wallpaper.
