Some who spoke and others who responded with cheers and War Bond purchases Sunday at the Exchange Club's Golden Deeds Tribute to Men in the Armed Forces. Dorothy Lamour. Left to right, Captain Hewitt T. Wheless of Merard, Dorothy Lamour and Governor Coke Stevenson. Captain Wheless is on the far left facing Governor Stevenson. His hair is slicked back and he is smiling. He is holding his service hat underneath his right arm and appears to be holding something in his hands. He is wearing a tan military uniform with his decorations above his left breast pocket, his rank on his shoulders, the United States initials on his lapels, a tan tie, and a tan belt. In the center of the picture is Ms. Lamour who is also facing Governor Stevenson. She is holding a rolled up white piece of paper in her hands and is smiling. She has her hair half up and half down, has on a white dress, a bracelet on his right wrist, a ring on his left ring finger, and her nails are painted a dark color. Governor Stevenson is on the right of the picture facing Captain Wheless. He is wearing a dark double button suit with a white undershirt and a black tie. Behind these individuals appear a banner.
