Emily Guthrie Smith (left), Fort Worth artist, Sam Canty III, president of the Fort Worth Art Association and Sallie Gillespie at a dinner at the Blackstone Hotel. The dinner was held to recognize Ms. Gillespie's work for the Fort Worth art community. All three are seated at a table which is set with china and silverware. The women are wearing printed dresses. Ms. Gillespie is also wearing a large corsage. A woman is playing the piano and singing in the background. This photograph was published in the May 22, 1942 evening edition of the Star-Telegram.
