Description
Father's Day. Copy of a photograph of Corporal Martin Gray, Marine captive of the Japanese. "A father meets his 'sons'- W. C. Gray, 315 East Weatherford Street, with two sons in the Marines and one a Japanese captive, visited the United Service Organizations headquarters at Hotel Texas Saturday evening to get acquainted with the trio of soldiers who will visit in his home Father's Day." Corporal Gray, pictured, is the actual son of W. C. Gray, but he is unable to see his father on Father's Day due to his military commitment. Instead, a trio of other soldiers will perform this duty for him. Corporal Gray is wearing his uniform with an overcoat. He appears to be holding a bugle with a banner decorated with the symbol for the Marines. He is standing outside. An unidentified building can be seen in the background, along with a leafless tree and shrubbery.
