Description
Mrs. A. R. Gordon with a United States flag. "Mrs. A. R. Gordon...She flies the flag for a son lost in the silence on Java, for another son in the navy, and for all the boys at Texas Tech who used to call her "Mom" and are now at the battle fronts." Mrs. Gordon is standing with one arm to her side and the other holding the flag. She is looking solemnly off into the distance. In the background is a porch that is partially obscured by the flag and lined with a row of bushes. A few vines drape just overhead.
