First day cover honoring General Douglas MacArthur from MacArthur, West Virginia. The town was renamed for the General. On the cover is a patriotic drawing At the top is the Congressional Medal of Honor, below which is a head drawing of General MacArthur. A United States flag flies behind his likeness and is surrounded by the words "The Man of the Hour". Below General MacArthur's likeness is the sentence "A small West Virginia mining town named in honor of General Douglas MacArthur. The cachet was created at the Fleetword Cover Service company. This photograph was published in the April 26, 1942 morning edition of the Star-Telegram
