Description
Three of the 60 women who are studying aircraft sheet-metal work in the government-sponsored training program at M. G. Ellis School. At the squaring shearer is Mrs. Cornelia McCauley. Waiting to use the cutter are Miss Virginia Thomas (left) and Mrs. Laree Frazier. Mrs. McCauly appears to be cutting a small sheet of metal with the machine as the other two women look on. Miss Thomas is inspecting three small sheets of metal in her hand while Mrs. Frazier looks at the camera. Behind the trio are more supplies and tables. Mrs. McCauley is wearing a jacket and a pair of trousers; Miss Thomas is wearing a striped, short-sleeve shirt over a blouse, a skirt and a pair of eyeglasses; and Mrs. Frazier is wearing a short-sleeve, striped blouse. The women have four more weeks of study on the seven-week course that will prepare them for places on an aircraft assembly line.
