Description
While over 300 school children looked on, officials planted the first of a mass planting of Redbud trees at Rosemont Park in Fort Worth, Texas. Shoveling the dirt on the first planting is Mrs. H. A. Griffin, right, president of South Side Garden Club. Holding the tree is D. D. Obert, center, city forester. Watching the ceremony is Mrs. Mack Johns, program chairman. Behind the trio is the large group of school children, watching the ceremony. Mrs. Griffin is wearing a long-sleeve, dark dress with ruffles on the bodice, and a small hat. Mrs. Johns is wearing a long, dark coat with a belted dress underneath and a small, floppy hat. Mr. Obert is wearing a striped suit and a pair of sunglasses.
