Description
George Conley (left) and Joe R. Colbert Junior, two boys who ran away from home. The two boys are shown sitting on the steps of a building, both smiling. Both are dressed in trousers and thick jackets. George has a flannel shirt in his lap while Joe holds a knitted hat on his knee. Set between them on the step below them is a dirtied bag and another jacket. The boys, both 14, hitchhiked and walked their way east, however they both deny they were running away. It was said "they were heading for the Gulf of Mexico to be pirates."
