Description
Pretty Miss Betty Bowman, 19, 'ranch girl' at the Southwestern Exposition and Fat Stock Show this year, had roped Charles G. Cotten, Chamber of Commerce trade extension manager, into sprucing up with a new Spring hat, but he can't decide which of the popular styles and colors to choose. Miss Bowman is from Odessa, Texas and a sophomore at Texas Christian University. The pair are standing next to a display of hats. Betty is holding one end of her rope to her hip, with the other end lassoed around Mr. Cotton. He is both wearing and holding a hat. She is wearing Western attire while he is wearing a suit. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, March 6, 1942.
