Reed, Crossland's supervisor, is standing at the left behind the steer. Crossland is wearing a dark coat, a collared shirt, trousers and a hat. Mr. Reed is wearing a buttoned-up shirt, necktie and a brimmed hat. Behind them is a fence that separates the field from another area.
