The 1942 Golden Gloves State Tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Competing in the welterweight division, left to right, are John Zaharieff and Morris Carona. Carona is a defensive boxer from Port Arthur, Texas. Zaharieff is a fighter from Houston, Texas Carona is show in his familiar stand-up fighting style, picking off potentially deadly punches. Zaharieff is in a crouch, attempting to hit Carona with a right hook. Carona went on to win the bout.
