    Image shows a carload, 22 head, of heavy draft mules from Tennessee and Missouri sold at the Fort Worth, Texas, livestock market this week for use in the oil fields at Kilgore, Texas. Left to right are Bob Sims, Kilgore, Texas, teaming contractor, the purchaser; William McMillan and H. H. Hampton, buyers for Ross Brothers Horse and Mule Company; and W. R. Ross, operator of the firm. McMillan and Hampton are holding a pair of the "sugarcane" mules that sold at Mule Alley of the Fort Worth Stockyards for $400 to $500 a span. All four men are wearing suits and hats. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition January 2, 1942.
