Description
Doctor A. M. Harding, president of the University of Arkansas. Astronomical figures formerly impressed the public, but not any longer, Dr. A. M. Harding, president of the University of Arkansas and widely traveled lecturer, on the universe, said here Tuesday. 'Folks here used to gasp when I told them the distance to the sun was 93,000,000 light years.' the jovial, homespun educator smiled. "But now they just think of the latest figures from Washington, D. C., and remain wholly unimpressed." Dr. Harding, who has taken his slides to every state in the Union during the last quarter century, arrived to give a free illustrated lecture entitled 'Glimpses of Other Worlds' in the Texas Christian auditorium at 8 PM. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening Edition January 13, 1942.
