Description
The Alabama Crimson Tide are facing off against the Texas A&M Aggies in the 1942 Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The Crimson Tide represents the Southeastern Conference while the Aggies represent the Southwestern Conference. The Aggies opened up the scoring on New Year's Day with a touchdown pass to Harold Cowley (83). Cowley is shown a few steps before crossing into the end zone. The Tide defenders in pursuit are Al Sabo (19) and Joe Domnanovich (45). A referee is standing in the end zone, keeping close watch on the play. Despite the early Aggie lead, Alabama went on to win 29-21. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, January 2, 1942.
