    Description

    The Alabama Crimson Tide is facing off against the Texas A&M Aggies in the 1942 Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The Crimson Tide represents the Southeastern Conference while the Aggies represent the Southwestern Conference. Two Crimson Tide cheerleaders are pictured flashing winning smiles after the game. They are left to right Mary Phillips and Marybelle Wood. They are dressed in their cheerleader uniforms - collared shirt, collegiate sweater, and a skirt. Due to mainly defense and special teams, Alabama won the game 29-21. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, January 2, 1942.
