Description
This is a portrait of Mrs. J. J. White. She is sitting on an ottoman footstool. She is gazing up and into the distance, holding her hands in her lap. She is sitting just in front of a door. She is praying "Dear God, we thank Thee today that we have a God, a great God, a loving God- A God that is everywhere and a God that is all powerful. We thank Thee for all Thy blessings- our homes, churches, schools, and America. Today with humble hearts we ask Thee in faith to be with our leaders and give them to divine wisdom and knowledge to lead us into a time of peace. Teach us how to pray, teach us how to trust, and how to live bravely and courageously. Be with our boys everywhere; help them to look to Thee in faith. In Jesus' name we ask it. Amen." Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, December 31, 1941.
