    Description

Gene Autry movie cowboy Number 1 had cup of coffee at the Municipal Airport with Mary Elizabeth Turrentine, secretary to W. G. Fuller, airport manager, when he arrived from Hollywood Tuesday. He was en route to his ranch near Ardmore to prepare for the rodeo he will put on at the Houston Fat Stock Show in February. Gene and Mary are looking directly at each other, smiling. They appear to be at a diner. Two coffee mugs with saucers, two glasses of water, some stray crystals of sugar, a sugar bowl, and what appear to be two small carafes of cream are sitting on the table. A pair of salt and pepper shakers are bolstering a menu. A newspaper is resting underneath Gene's arm. Other diners are enjoying themselves in the background. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 1, 1941.
