Deep wildcat exploration is underway in the wake of two-year intensive leasing program again has brought hope to Wise County citizens that the county may be opened to oil production. Pictured here is Laverne Harbour, driller's helper. Laverne is standing next indoors next to heavy machinery. He is holding one hand on his hip, and the other is resting on the machinery. He is wearing a soiled uniform and a hard hat. He is halfway smiling and looking directly into the camera. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 4, 1942.
