Description
Lee Brown, financial secretary of Cooks, Waiters and Bartenders Union, giving slice of birthday cake with Bennie Sachse, 11 years old, of Illinois, whose father baked it. Mr. Sachse made the cake a surprise party held for Mr. Brown on his fifty-fifth birthday. Behind the duo is a sparkly banner that reads "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" along with stars that outline the banner. Around the cake are various flowers and a stack of cards can be seen near Mr. Brown, as well. Bennie is wearing a furry overcoat while Mr. Brown wears a dark suit. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 30, 1941.
