    Description

    When Colonel Ernest O. Thompson retired from Army service, his command, the 141st Infantry of the 36th Division, tendered him a scroll bearing signatures of all 2,700 officers and men of the regiment. The scroll's background is a pale blue T insignia of the division. Shown with the gift are Mrs. E. O. Thompson, Private First Class Birdger P. Hobday Junior, of Arlingen, Texas, Service Company member who prepared the scroll, Captain N. A. Webster, of San Antonio, Texas, of the regimental staff, who planned and supervised the gift, and Colonel Thompson. Mrs. Thompson is wearing a dress and a hat. The military personnel are wearing their uniforms.
