    Description

Conflicting records are causing problems for the Masonic Home High School football team. The Masons' school records list star tailback Louis A. Burress with a date of birth of December 26, 1923. His birth certificate, on file at the Tarrant County Courthouse, recorded his birth in 1922. A ledger of hand written birth records is pictured. Burress (record 782) is shown just above someone's thumb. This record also shows a birth year of 1922. This fact makes Burress ineligible for football. Because of the age discrepancy, the Masons must forfeit their victories. The politics of football in Texas. "(Star-Telegram photos). No published date.
