Mrs. Virgil Gates, seated in the living room of her Denton, TX home with a photograph of her daughter Nancy Gates on a side table. Nancy Gates was scouted by RKO-Radio Pictures. Since Nancy was three, her mother has been her guide in the development of natural talent for singing, and dramatics. Woman, Mrs. Gates, seated in a fabric covered armchair, reading a book in front of a window with a sheer drape adorned with pom-pom trim. Published Nov. 16, 1941 in the morning edition of the Star-Telegram.
