Description
A high school football game between the North Side Steers (dark jerseys) and the Polytechnic Parrots is being played at Farrington Field in Fort Worth, Texas. On the first play from scrimmage, the Steers gave the ball to back Bobby Putnam (51). He is shown at the beginning of his run, breaking around his left end. Leading the way with a block is tackle John Utley (56). He is lowering his shoulder to block Parrot halfback Kenneth Peacock. Putnam galloped seventy-six yards and scored a touchdown. Despite the early score, the Steers lost to the Parrots 18-7. "(Star-Telegram Photos by Tom Dillard.)" Published Star-Telegram Morn. Nov. 8, 1941.
