Description

The Golden Gloves state tournament was held in Fort Worth, Texas. The winners of each of the eight weight classes are moving on to represent Texas in the Tournament of Champions held in Chicago, Illinois. On the left row top to bottom are Sanders Cox, Tom Attra, Eddie Russey, and Dick Menchaca. On the right are Aubrey Poole, Morris Corona, Jack Osteen, and Jose Andreas. Cox is a Light-Heavyweight alternate from Dallas. He is dressed in a suit. Attra is a Light-Heavyweight from Austin. He is wearing a double breasted suit. Russey is a lightweight from Wichita Falls. He is dressed in a sports coat, collared shirt, and necktie. Menchaca is representing Port Arthur in the bantamweight class. He is wearing a jacket and striped trousers. Poole is the heavyweight champion from Houston. He is dressed in a suit. Corona is a welterweight from Beaumont. He is wearing a collared shirt, sweater, and a blazer. Osteen is a featherweight alternate from Tyler. He is dressed in a pinstripe suit. Andreas, is the flyweight champion from Fort Worth. He is wearing a three piece tweed suit. Making the trip but not pictured are Andy Eagleton - middleweight and Don Livingston - featherweight.
