Image shows For five months these four educators worked to produce the second grade reader they are looking over, which has been adopted as a supplementary reader by the State Department of Education. The educators are, left to right, standing, Miss Anna Bell Sparger, art teacher at Oak Lawn School, Mrs. Gladys de Silva Bates, speech teacher at San Angelo, Texas, and Mrs. Lenore Petosky Rhodes, Oak Lawn teacher; seated in front is Miss Fanjane Stovall, Oak Lawn principal. Miss Stovall is holding the book, titled "Little Americans." Miss Stovall, Miss Sparger and Mrs. de Silva Bates are wearing dresses and Mrs. Rhodes is wearing a blouse, blazer and skirt. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition November 2, 1941.
