These Clifton pioneers are charter members of the city's Garden Club, one of the oldest and most active organizations of its kind in the State. The group, known today as the Clifton Civic Improvement Society, is in charge of the Clifton Flower Show, which will be held at the city hall in Clifton. The charter member, left to right, are Mrs. W. E. Hurts, Mrs. O. P. Pederson, Mrs. R. L. Baldridge and Mrs. Ora Lee Bettis. The four women are shown standing in the corner of a room. Each of them appear to be looking at something to their left. Mrs. Hurts, Mrs. Pederson and Mrs. Bettis are all wearing similar long-sleeve, dark dresses with circular patterns on them, however Mrs. Baldridge is wearing is a collared, light-colored shirt. Mrs. Hurts, Mrs. Pederson and Mrs. Bettis are also wearing eyeglasses. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 19, 1941.
