Here are the chief characters in the world's blind golf championship match at Rockwood golf course. At left, putting is Clinton Russell, world's champion from Duluth, Minnesota. Lining up Russell's clubhead is Jimmy Koehler, Duluth city golf champ who acts as the titlist's eyes, Minnesota. Second from right is Challenger Marvin Shannon of Fort Worth, Texas. Holding up the flag is Shannon's adviser and teacher, Sheet Fincher, Rockwood pro. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 24, 1941.
