It was "Texas Day" in Washington, D.C. when the Redskins met the New York Giants in a game of professional football on October 9, 1938. In pregame ceremonies, the Red Cross drive in Washington was helped along. Mr. Amon G. Carter of Fort Worth is seen throwing out the first ball from the second deck box to start the game.
