Description
The new building for the John L. Ashe Shoe Store is being built on the same lot as the original store. The previous location of the shoe store - the old Wheat Building is shown in this copy photo, taken on March 24, 1927. The building is the pride of the early days in Fort Worth, Texas. The Wheat Building features a stone exterior and has a stairwell leading down into the basement. The windows of the shoe store are a half moon design with a striped awning. On the second floor is the Hendricks and Bell Lawyers.
