Image shows a copy of a picture of and World War I Veteran. He is shown in United States Military uniform. July died as a Corporal while in active service, his first enlistment was with the Seminole Negro Indian Scouts and his second enlistment was with Troop B, 10th Cavalry. He served in the U.S. military from 1908-1914. He is buried at the Brackettville Seminole Indian Scout Cemetery. Black Seminoles Indigenous Scouts, were part of a fierce and crafty group of United States warriors who were an essential part of taming the west. This is part of a project to tell and bring forth an unnoted history of Black Seminole Indigenous contribution to United States conquest of the West.
