Description
Memorial plaque to victims of the Holocaust. The text reads "1972, Dedicated by Paul and Leah Lewis." "1939-1945, For these I Weep, Lamentations 1:16. Six lamps aflame...A memorial to the six million men, women, and children, one third of our people, the innocent victims of unspeakable brutality. The sacred memory of our martyred dead is enshrined in our hearts. Their tragic fate must forever remain as a solemn admonition to the conscience of mankind." "In tribute to the people of all nations, who at the risk of their own lives rescued many of our brethren, the humanitarian acts of the Scandinavian people and the heroic deeds of the Danish people, inspired by its King Christian X, shall always be remembered."
