Friends and Scenes of the Army as I Found Them, Vol. 1

This photograph album records the experiences of Carl H. Fellows while in training at Camp Stanley in 1917 and 1918. It is filled with snapshots of colleagues, family, and friends. There are views of camp buildings including the post office, barracks and showers; training maneuvers at Camp Stanley and neighboring Camp Bullis as well as Fort Roots, Arkansas; aircraft, horses and mules, and motorcycles with side cars. Many of the snapshots depict trips home and sightseeing adventures around San Antonio and the Guadalupe River. A photo of General John J. Pershing sitting at his desk is also included.
