Correspondence, genealogical materials, certificate. The Oliver S. Kennedy Papers are primarily comprised of letters written by Kennedy to his sweetheart, later wife, Georgie Foster, during the Civil War and the years shortly thereafter. Kennedy's 1884 certificate of honorary membership in the Fort Worth Rifles is also included. The collection additionally contains Foster family genealogical materials including the earliest item, an 1853 letter thought to be written by Georgie's mother, Susan Cheatham Foster, discussing her move Enterprise, Florida, for health reasons.
